Khaleegy

Khaleegy is a playful dance form from the Arabian Gulf. Women wear a delicately embroidered, oversized dress or "thobe", which forms an important part of the dance: the performer often picks it up to hide part of the face, holds part of the thobe over the head to symbolise a tent, or allows it to flow. The hair is often thrown from side to side or in other patterns, creating a stunning visual effect, especially with multiple dancers.
